Bagnara
Salento IGP Fiano
Straw yellow in color with golden reflections.
On the nose, it reveals a succession of fruity notes, aromatic herbs and delicate floral aromas.
A wine of vibrant and immediate freshness, with a distinct marine salinity and a pleasantly persistent finish.
Historical & Technical Notes
Our Fiano grapes come from the Bagnara district, located in a karst area between Cellino San Marco and Campi Salentina, along the old boundary line known as the “Limite dei Greci.”
This is the only hilly area of Upper Salento, stretching across hectares of woodland, dense olive groves, prickly pears, dry-stone walls, Mediterranean scrub and extraordinary vineyards. Here, the wind carries both the scent and breeze of the Adriatic Sea, along with the warmth of the African desert.
In August, we harvest our exceptional grapes, which are then cryomacerated in the cellar at 4°C for 24 hours.
And the resulting wine? It is what has long been known as the “Gold of Salento,” already appreciated by Frederick II of Swabia and Charles of Anjou as early as the 13th century.
