HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL NOTES
The name Malvasia Nera derives originally from a contraction of the word Monembasia, a Byzantine fortress perched on the rocks of a promontory in the Peloponnese where wines were produced and exported throughout Europe by the Venetians under the name Monemvasia . Our Malvasia Nera comes from Espalier and Guyot trained vineyards harvested in September. the wines are vinified in oxygen-free heat-controlled rotary vats to retain the fruit character. The wine is then aged in steel and in bottle.
